About us

Point of Ayr Holiday Park was created more than 60 years ago by our grandparents and we are proud to say the family run the park to this day.

We are a traditional seaside holiday park open 10¼ months of the year and we are based in the heart of North East Wales, not far from the beach or the A55, the main road that runs straight through North Wales.

Our caravan park is within walking distance of the lovely little seaside holiday village called Talacre and it is a stone’s throw away from the beach.

The seaside village has traditional Welsh shops selling all sorts of knick-knacks, from buckets and spades and garden gnomes to plants and caravan cushions.

Our holiday makers love to nip over to grab fish and chips from the seaside chip shop and Mums and Dads have been known to grab a cheeky drink in the pub too. Both the pub and chip shop are within walking distance of the caravan park.

Talacre beach has its own car park, so if you don’t fancy walking to the beach from our gate, you can always drive down.

We are in a super position, flanked by stunning mountains on one side and sand dunes of the beach on the other.

We are so close to the beach that you can hear the sound of the waves. Talacre is well known for its magnificent sand dunes and iconic lighthouse and is especially favoured by film and TV production companies.

The beach and the lighthouse are often featured on adverts and TV programmes. The most famous advert that you may have seen is the Dulux Dog running on the beach, here is the advert link if you would like to see it (Talacre Beach features at the end of the advert).

We have a close-knit holiday community here at the caravan park with numerous owners having chosen to holiday with us year after year. Our longest staying couple was Betty & Jim who stayed with us for 45 years. Many of our staff have worked on the park for well over 25 years too, making for a really friendly atmosphere. You will get to know the other owners as the faces don’t change often and many life-spanning friendships have been formed here.

We pride ourselves on delivering a good old-fashioned, traditional holiday. We thoroughly enjoy a peaceful way of life here at Point of Ayr.

We only offer one kind of holiday and that’s owners’ holidays. We do not do weekly rentals. People who stay with us describe the park as calm, tranquil, clean and spacious. Also, our parking plots are bigger than most too.

We offer a full range of facilities to use at your leisure, and we have plenty of owner events to join in throughout the year, such as the annual ‘Friends and Family Summer BBQ’. Facilities are within walking distance; we have a heated indoor pool, a sauna, the Talbot Pub, a shop and a caravan exhibition area with all the new vans on show.
