Remembering our heroes in style on the 27th July from 4pm

Following on from the ‘World War Two’ and ‘Talacre Then and Now’ event in the village, Point of Ayr Holiday Park are hosting a World War Two themed family party.

Why don’t you come along and join in with the fun! We will be holding our party opposite to the Talbot Bar in the caravan display area.

There will be:

  • Good old songs from the past
  • Hot food laid on by the Talbot Bar (Lots of cake!!)
  • An old fashioned karaoke featuring songs like ‘Roll Out The Barrel’, ‘Don’t Dilly Dally’, ‘Long Way To Tipperary’. ‘Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside’ and more!
  • A competition for the best World War Two dressed couple, the lucky winners will receive a lovely meal at the Eagle and Child
  • If you have any old memories to share, let us know – we want to hear them!
  • If you are ex forces wear your badges and medals with pride!
  • If you have any other ideas to make our World War Two celebrations a great day, just let us know!

Stunning new CGI film of Spitfire training over Talacre released ahead of World War II Weekend….Take a look below

The village of Talacre played a vital role during WW2 and was home of the RAF Air to Ground Firing Range.

The Talacre range gave young pilots the opportunity to test the guns in flight for the first time preparing them for front line air combat.
